Our new SmartRadio app has launched

Moving from our original app DOK, onto UNDOK, we’ve now arrived at OKTIV, with user insight and advanced technology making it a clearly better experience for users. OKTIV serves as a comprehensive remote control with an iOS or Android smart device; with a single code base across platforms that enables rapid feature development and support.

Working with a team of useability experts, Frontier spent over 300 hours researching, testing the new interface and interviewing users, with the aim of making OKTIV as streamlined and easy to use as possible. James Taylor, Senior Product Manager at Frontier, explains what this testing meant for OKTIV:

“We found it was taking the people we observed a long time to find and play music and content, with too many clicks needed. We responded to their feedback by developing a new way to save preferred content. On OKTIV’s new home page screen you can pin all your favourite content in one place, wherever it’s coming from. Whether it’s a radio station or band, current podcast or party playlist, you can pin and play it back with a single button press.”

In terms of OKTIV compatibility, OKTIV is available for Venice X based Frontier products and solutions running SDK IR 4.2.4 or higher. It’s available to download for free now from the iOS App store and Google Play store.
