Frontier AURIA, powered by Realtek Ameba, celebrates being first to market with Auracast Bluetooth Wi-Fi audio platform
Delivering Wi-Fi connectivity into audio products will enable more features and use cases for consumers. Frontier believes that great connectivity and audio features should be available regardless of the type or price point of the product.
Over the past 24 months, Frontier has been collaborating with Realtek to develop a robust connected audio solution using the new Ameba RTL8730E chip. Both parties are happy to announce that the Frontier AURIA connected audio platform, powered by the Realtek Ameba chip, is the first solution in mass production for connected audio applications.
Taking the innovative Realtek Ameba RTL8730E chip, Frontier has built a simple and robust audio solution aimed at audio products including speakers, soundbars, music and AVR systems.
A true turnkey solution, AURIA runs Frontier ConnectedAudio software and allows dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth LE Audio, Spotify, AirPlay and Auracast to be added to new or existing products. With zero NRE expense and a cost-optimised solution, AURIA enables the latest connectivity and audio features to be rapidly brought to mass market.
It’s no surprise that Frontier is experiencing high demand from manufacturers and is the first solution based on Realtek Ameba RTL8730E to get into mass, high volume production.
AURIA offers the following hardware features for audio products:
Dual-Core 1.3Ghz ARM Cortex-A32
Dual-Band certified Wi-Fi 6
Bluetooth 5.4 LE Audio
Small footprint and low power consumption
Certified for FCC/ISED/RED/UKCA
Prem Rajalingham, Managing Director of Frontier said: “Frontier has focused on the key audio features that are driving growth in the market and packaged them in a powerful turnkey solution. Reliability and cost optimisation have been core during the development of AURIA and the result is a solution that will innovate the industry and delight the end users while passing the cost optimisations on to the manufacturers and consumers”.
“We are happy to work with Frontier and be the IC solutions behind their latest AURIA module,” said Yee-Wei Huang, Realtek's Vice President and Spokesman. “Being the first to mass production is a key milestone and the beginning of scaling up and distributing Ameba to the mass market.”
